Rock Lobster!

Look, I know I did a post a while back about how wearing a literal interpretation of an icon has a tendency to look twee, but that was then.  Since then, this happened.

Tibi Lobster Silhouette Easy Dress

That's the beauty of having your own blog.  You have free reign to contradict yourself whenever you see fit. Kind of like politics, but with better clothes.

I love this. This is my kind of thing. A simple A-line shift is just so easy to wear. It is really just one piece with a big zipper up the back. Done. Made beautifully, fully-lined, and you can probably stretch it into an all season piece with some tights and boots, although it is intended as a resort piece (it was just too damn cold in the Highlands to be outside in sandals so I styled it thusly).

Nine West boots (past season)
you've seen these before...

For demonstration purposes only.
The zipper has a two-way zip on it. I don't really think this is a necessary detail as the
dress has plenty of room, but it adds interest, and that's fine.
Really, I can't imagine what business anyone would have zipping this thing up to her...um...lady business.

I love, love, LOVE Tibi, and it just so happens they have a whole series of these mod-inspired colourblock Lobster pieces in their current resort collection. Their clothes are fun, chic, and really easy to wear.

  1. I can't believe you bought it! It's great. Now I'll have to put on my fox dress and stand next to you in your lobster dress next time I see you.

  3. Your hair always looks so glamorous. Do you blow it out straight? Is it naturally that smooth? So lucky!
