Walking Softly in Kickass Shoes

After much deliberation, these shoes won out over many others when it came time for me to spend the rest of my Topshop gift voucher from the good folks over at Today I'm Wearing.  I am a sucker for a nude sandal. I have a hard time leaving them on the shelf, as they are such amazing wardrobe extenders. I have a few pairs at home, but they were more of the hurrache variety. What I liked about this gladiator sandal, was it simplicity, the very on-trend block heel (lower heels! Huzzah!) and the spikes, giving it just that wee bit of edge that makes them a perfect pairing with some of my more girly pieces. Something to give pinks and florals a bit more toughness.

This ASOS shirtdress is about a year and a half old. I usually wear it on holiday when the temperatures soar, as it is loose-fitting and made of a light cotton fabric. These nude gladiators were a perfect pairing; not interfering with the floral print, yet adding just a bit of edge while still being super-comfortable.

  1. I can't wear sandals but if I could I would snatch those up in a minute! They're perfect with that gorgeous dress and I'm absolutely coveting your jewelry, especially that amethyst ring. Well played, as usual ;-)

  2. Those are amazing sandals - very kickass and definitely worth spending the gift voucher on! I agree, nude shoes are great :) I have some patent ones, but definitely need some funky ones. Might have to take a look at these if I can find a Topshop!!!

    1. Thanks! Enjoy it while it is green! Soon, the Scottish weather will take it all away again.

  8. I'm completely knocked out by how you styled this already cool little dress. I'm a sucker for nude sandals, too. I don't wear them as often as I might, and your post is a reminder that I should. If ever there were legs that needed lengthening, they're mine.
Great heel on them, you're right. Lift, but no wobble. Just tough enough to lend a bit of edge to your sweet dress, but not so tough that it scares!
A lesson that delicate jewelry doesn't have to be twee. Lovely jewels, lovely you!
