Your Wardrobe: The Ultimate Home Shopping Experience

As a fashion blogger, one of the things that is never far from the front of my mind is what's coming next. Emerging season trends, new acquisitions, thrift treasures, bargains; all of these are things that occupy way more than their naturally-allotted amount of brain real estate inside my head. Today, as I was perusing the emerging fall trends on Style.com, I made a couple of realisations. Numero uno:  I have a lot of pieces already in my wardrobe that I can easily incorporate into these emerging new season trends, and dos: creating a digital image where you are looking at your entire wardrobe all at once (minus underwear) is a great way to see how much colour you have in your wardrobe, if not learn a little about yourself and how you make wardrobe choices. Okay, that second thing is more of an exercise in self-awareness, but an interesting one nonetheless. Not so long ago, a photo of my closet would have been a study in the various nuances and permutations of the colour black.

This fall, I am going to make more of an effort to wear the pieces I have. As you can see, I am not exactly hurting for choices. I want to (as Gok Wan would say) buy less and wear more for fall.  Here is some of my game plan. What's yours?

  2. Wonderful ideas, here - like taking a "candid" pic of the closet. And your jackets/vests look like seasonal perfection, so you are ready for Fall! My closet looks like a lot of neutral right now . . .

  3. You've chosen some fabulous pieces here. I just received my InStyle (the last of the fashion magazines with a still-active subscription) and can hardly wait to peruse and play the same game with my own closet!

  4. Good plan! After a long hot summer, I'm actually looking forward to Autumn shopping. It's gotten slight cooler now - I wore a cotton cardigan all day today, but it's not coat and boots weather yet.

  6. The dress is even more beautiful in person! It is a bit big as expected but my seamstress said no problem on taking it in to fit me exact and she couldn't believe the price either.
