Wallis Turns Me Into An Animal

In this, the third instalment of my collaboration with Wallis,  you get to bear witness to the official completion of my transformation into a feral beast. As always when I return home from vacation, I find the re-entry process a bit jarring, and spend the first few days scampering off into corners and hissing at people. Luckily, this dress had arrived from the good people at Wallis, and was waiting for me when I got home. It was one of the pieces recommended to me through their Style Advisor app, and it is so lightweight and easy to wear, you could easily forget you have anything on, which while may be alarming to some, is the best case scenario for my post-vacation state of mind. If you need a refresher on the Style Advisor app, you can see the previous two posts here, and here.

I had a bit of a moment styling this piece - not because it is difficult, but because it is easy. I was trying too hard; trying to belt it at the smallest point of my waist (as we are always told to do), then tried cinching it in with a obi belt, then a gold belt to match the buttons...nothing seemed right. Then I realised that I was working too hard and let a simple black belt hang loose around my hips. The material is slinky and looks more effortless when it is worn loosely. It has kind of a Cavalli-like look to it, yes?  I paired it with boots and tights for fall, but this could easily take you on a holiday if you paired it with some flat sandals.

This is a comfortable, chic, and indestructible dress that is so incredibly easy to wear, I only hissed a few times while I was getting dressed...and that was because of the tights.

  2. I took a chance on a black jumpsuit (wide legs, that's the key) by them this year and have never gotten so many compliments on an outfit ever. Yay Wallis! Completely sympathize with the post-vacation hissing; re-entry is always so cruel.

  3. SASSY! I like. In fact, I'd totally wear this. The whole thing.
