These Here Pink Pants

I found these Gerard Darel pastel pink jeans on sale at TK max for £11 last weekend, and really liked the way they fit and felt, so it was kind of a no-brainer.  I did think going-in that they might be a bit more tricky to style than just any old pair of denim pants, and I was right. Sure, you can put just about anything with them, but I like to pair something this girly (if only in color) with something a bit tough. The trick was to get the balance right.

I settled on this rather classic sweater and polo combo on top, anchored by accents of black in a belt, handbag, and some tough black booties. This was the balance I was going for; grown-up, but not twee. It takes a color that can make you look like you spell your name with a heart over the "i" and toughens it up...just a bit. It goes from "look at my pretty pink pants" to "whassup. These here are my pink-ass pants."

Just the way I like it.

  1. This is perfect. I agree that baby pink pants can be a little "sweet" but you toughened them up perfectly. Love this styling!
