Nautical Peplum & "The Sun"

First off, for those of you who like me, are in Scotland today, don't panic. They tell me that this big ball of fire that just sort of showed up in our sky is a thing called "The Sun", and is not in fact some kind of extraterrestrial attack, so you can go ahead and take off your tin foil helmets. Apparently this "Sun" makes an appearance once in a while, helping things to photosynthesise and whatnot, or so the legend goes. I'm told that in some parts of the world, this kind of thing is even considered normal. Pthhht. Sounds like a potboiler to me. I'm keeping the tin foil in my handbag until it's over, just in case.

I guess if the aliens are going to land their pod in the Sound of Kerrera and paddle over here to probe my brains (joke's on them in that case), I suppose I should at least give a good sartorial account of myself, so I'm choosing this outfit. I found this little peplum top in H&M last weekend. I love a peplum, and this one is definitely going to get a lot of mileage this year. I like that it blends the crispness of a nautical stripe with the flouncy feminine flair of a peplum. Basically, you don't really have to do anything, which is good because I definitely did not do a lot of styling today. After all, "The Sun" could come for me at any moment.
