A Forever Piece From Havren

Not more than a few weeks ago, I was lamenting the fact that I didn't have a simple short black jacket in my wardrobe. I was going to an event, and it was the perfect thing to complete the outfit that I was trying to put together. At the time, I ended up substituting a simple white blouse for the jacket I didn't have (always a safe bet), but the universe must have heard me. Just days later, the good people at Havren got in touch and asked if I wanted to review their Patricia jacket from the Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection.

This fitted jacket reminds me a bit of a tux jacket, and is one of those wardrobe items that will go with absolutely everything from a party dress to a pair of jeans. Being a fan of a good high-low mix, you'll notice that I opted for the latter - the pair of jeans. Will I wear this jacket with my dresses? You'd better believe it - but pairing it with denim is more in line with the way I dress on a day to day basis, and for the rainy weather (surprise surprise), it just kind of felt right.

The jacket itself is a fantastic poly viscose blend that has a thickness to it, yet a soft, lightweight, and almost knit-like hand that looks expensive, feels great, and has just a hint of stretch as to not restrict you when you move.  This reminds me of one of those "French girl" pieces that magazines are always going on about - a forever piece that you can quite literally put on over something as pedestrian as a pair of distressed, cut-off jeans and a tank top (as I have), and you will come away with just a hint of cool-girl je ne sais quois.
