Okay you guys - a few things. First of all, things may look a little different around here for a few weeks. I've had to rush home for a family emergency, and am without all my usual fancy-schmancy photography stuff, so be prepared for the odd insta-post or iPhone special.
Secondly (and I'm going to geek-out here for a minute so brace yourselves), a piece I was writing for one of my clients today drew my attention to an article in Harper's Bazaar that has me all atwitter with excitement. You guys, they're going to make Game of Thrones Jewellery, inspired by the pieces worn by Emilia Clarke's character Daenerys Targaryen's pieces during seasons 5 and 6! If you haven't seen some of these pieces (including the epic dragon necklace above), Google them now. They're amazing.
The collection is the result of a collaboration between Emmy award-winning costume designer Michele Clapton and London-based jewellery designers Yunus Ascott and Eliza Higginbottom. They have created MEY Designs for the express purpose of bringing jewellery designs based on the Mother of Dragons to the eager masses. The collection is scheduled to launch on June 30th and is comprised of 26 pieces, 4 of which are direct replicas of the "hero pieces" (which I am interpreting as "statement pieces") worn by Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. For those who prefer something a but more understated, there will also be bracelets, earrings, and stacking rings that are a bit more wearable in an everyday context. Prices will start at $100.
The collection will launch on the MEY Designs website on June 30th, so plan your strategy now!
