The Futile Art of Post-Op Chic

First off, let me preface this post with a reassurance that I am fine. Do not panic, do not run for the exits - remain calm. I am not sick, or dying, or having any other catastrophic kind of life event. I simply had to have an operation. It was planned. Oh, and they put that piece of tape on my nose to keep my nose stud from falling out when they anaesthetised me. Cute, yes? That with the braids, and I look like what might happen if Pippi Longstocking snorted too much coke as an experimental teen and by midlife, had let herself go.

Fancy Fingers

I've never really been much of a nails person, although the reasons for this vary from being in a health care profession to just constantly digging around in dirt, messing with dirty animals, and a pretty hearty helping of just not being too bothered about it. I had really sort of given up on manicures.

A Forever Piece From Havren

Not more than a few weeks ago, I was lamenting the fact that I didn't have a simple short black jacket in my wardrobe. I was going to an event, and it was the perfect thing to complete the outfit that I was trying to put together. At the time, I ended up substituting a simple white blouse for the jacket I didn't have (always a safe bet), but the universe must have heard me. Just days later, the good people at Havren got in touch and asked if I wanted to review their Patricia jacket from the Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection.

All Weather Off White

I had thought about saving saving this post for when it gets colder and making it into a "winter white" type of an affair, but I realized that once the weather really starts to turn and there's mud and/or slush everywhere, there is about as much chance of me wearing an all-white outfit as there is a six-legged, chocolate-scented rainbow unicorn offering me a biscuit with my morning latte. As clean and tidy as all white can be, it's just not the most practical for those of us love to move about our lives with travel mugs full of coffee.
