Climate Denier

Let me be clear. It is too cold for this outfit. This is one of those looks that I wore for the photo, then ran back inside and changed back into a sweater and boots. That's not to say that I won't wear this outfit. I will. Just probably not for a while here in Scotland….although it might be on the list of possibilities for my upcoming trip to Scottsdale, AZ.

I made a commitment last week to not keep showing you cold weather looks, and I meant it; I am going to try to stick to that, despite the very stringent efforts of the weather to undermine me at every turn. But it's spring dammit. If it won't arrive, I am just going to have to try and manifest it myself.

That said, this top is good for that. If the weather has got you down, there's nothing like a little dose of day sequins to elevate your mood. This top was a happy thrift store find in the middle of a subzero midwestern winter, so I have yet to take it on its maiden voyage now that we're back in Scotland. I like it. I love a nautical stripe, it makes me feel like warmer weather is right around the corner. Plus, if you're looking for a bit of weather escapism, day sequins are a whole lot better for you than day drinking.

  3. This morning I looked out of the window and it was S.N.O.W.I.N.G. Can you believe it? Good that nobody could hear my reaction to that... maybe we all should wear summer clothes to get the energy going... I'm in! I like your outfit and your bracelet very much... spring will come, even in Scotland!!! xxx Maren
